Wiltshire Folk Dance was formed when the Wiltshire Folk Association was found not to be achieving its original objectives of promoting, celebrating and developing ALL folk arts within the county of Wiltshire. Instead it was concentrating on a dance bias only, producing a newsletter and maintaining a website. Although Wiltshire Folk Dance still helps where possible to initiate and encourage involvement in folk activities throughout the county it is no longer run by committee but still maintains a newsletter and website supported by voluntary donations. However it also aims to liaise with folk organisations disseminating information about folk activities locally as well as being a focal point for folk interests within Wiltshire.

OBITUARY
Recent losses to Folk Music and Dance have been Jimmy Bryan, Northumbrian Piper, Pipe Maker and much else, who settled in Salisbury with his wife Marion; and Ray Taylor, larger than life caller. Both will be very much missed by all who knew them.
